A complex personality, Joe Zawinul was one of the most adventurous (formerly jazz) pianist of the last century.
His influence on jazz-fusion was capital, and his deep European roots, not to mention his implication in Adderley's formations, led him to decades of experimentation, at the very edge of jazz, electronic and classical music.
