Berlin-based international music collective Post Clients release their self-titled debut LP – ten songs, six people, and the sound of something being reclaimed.
It started the way things sometimes do – coincidentally, with friends gathering after work in an East Berlin studio filled with drum machines and synthesisers from decades past. There was no plan and no album in mind. Just friends picking up instruments and playing together.

Over the best part of a year, they returned to that room again and again. Everything was tracked live. No laptop, minimal editing – a method that recalls the reel-to-reel discipline of an earlier era, when a take was a take and the air in the room was part of the recording. At some point the songs added up to ten, and the obvious became unavoidable: this was a record.

The six members of Post Clients arrive from projects of their own – Naked Cameo, Bearcubs, Ant Antic, Face Value – each with its own following and its own sound. What they found in that room was the early fire again, the one that exists before the machinery of a career takes over: the simple act of making music with friends, in a room, with instruments. It sounds innocent enough, but in an industry built on speed and the endless churn of content, that act has become increasingly radical.

In an industry that increasingly favours the fast, the efficient, and the solitary, Post Clients have made a record that stands apart. It is slow in its making and communal in its approach – deeply human, and a reminder that the simplest reasons for making music are sometimes the most worth holding onto.
