From Bandcamp:
Owaru Plays Music From Final Fantasy is a tribute to one of the most influential and beloved video game music series of all time.
Performed by the French piano and flute duo OWARU, the album reimagines iconic themes from across the Final Fantasy universe through intimate acoustic arrangements, blending classical influences, jazz improvisation, and cinematic sensitivity.
Drawing from titles such as Final Fantasy VI, VII, IX, X, XIII, and XIII-2, the album explores the emotional depth and timeless beauty of the series’ music. From the nostalgia of To Zanarkand and Aerith’s Theme to the dramatic intensity of One-Winged Angel, each piece is approached with respect for the original composition while allowing space for reinterpretation and spontaneous musical dialogue.
Rather than reproducing the soundtracks note for note, Owaru Plays Music From Final Fantasy offers a personal and organic reading of these works, highlighting their melodic strength and emotional power through the unique combination of piano and flute.
The album celebrates the lasting impact of Final Fantasy’s music and its ability to connect generations of listeners through themes of adventure, memory, loss, hope, and wonder.
